Christianity is a  religion based on the person and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth. The United States has a total of 65% of people that adhere to Christianity, in 2019. In 1990 it was 85%. In 2001 it was 81.6% and then 78% in 2012. The percentages of people practicing Christianity is declining. The Church has been a major source of social services like schooling and medical care. It also inspired art, culture, and philosophy. The Church also played a very influence part in politics.
